Laura Riganti performed her original track “Work of Art” with modest brilliance and grace for Ont Sofa live at Jaguar Shoes.
With only a piano and a harmonising backing vocalist, Laura’s voice was rightly the driving force of the musical ensemble, a solid and soulful sound, try to imagine if Adele and Amy Winehouse had a baby.
By using this musical arrangement, with particular merit to the tightness of the vocal harmonies, a very full yet light sound is omitted, which is unarguably merciful and pleasant on the ears.
This young lady is definitely worth a listen:
Thom Worth and his backing band gave a masterful performance of his original track “Oh Lucinda” for Ont Sofa live at Dalston Studios.
Naming his song after a girl is certainly not the most original idea for a song title, however, Thom’s distinctive voice is comparable to no-one, something truly original. In addition, you will not be able to deny how infectious this song is, upon listening to it, you simply won’t be able to get it out of your head.
With an upbeat tempo and a lead guitar part which smacks of Johnny Marr, most certainly a compliment, you won’t be forgetting about Thom Worth anytime soon.
Give it a listen and you will know exactly what we are talking about:
A duo comprised of Jess Greenfield and Gavin Conder gave a soulful performance of their original track “Mr Rain” at Dalston studios for Ont Sofa.
The highlight of this performance has to be these two big voices. Jess and Gavin, both incredibly talented vocalists, have crafted something truly unique in this performance, by comprising Gavin’s husky heartfelt delivery with Jess’ soulful power to make amazing musical chemistry.
This stripped back performance with the backing of a guitar and keyboard only exemplifies their voices further, making this performance extra special for those seeking some soul.

Tim Gallagher gave a memorable performance of his ballad “Only a Man” at The Mustard Pot pub for Ont’ Sofa.
It’s difficult to believe that he managed to produce such a striking and engaging sound with only two guitars and his voice, in this instance less was certainly more. This is a performance geared for anyone seeking a stripped back, real, and emotive sound and delivery.
Vocally, this performance was a great showcase of what his voice can do, as Tim Gallagher skilfully managed to maintain a balancing act between a clean and angelic voice coupled with moments much rawer, delivered with real conviction and feel, this guy’s range is impressive to say the least. His original Ballard “Only a Man” in particular omits a confessional and sentimental tone.
Have a listen:
Fis Hajdari gave a great performance at the Kirkgate market in Leeds city Centre, he sung a mash up between “Home to Mama” by Justin Bieber and “Lost” by Chance the Rapper.
Who would have thought these two songs would blend so well. Not to mention the segment of the performance that included a rap in Albanian, which nobody was expecting.
It’s important to note that Fis had never sung in public or in front of anyone before he performed for Ont’ Sofa, he could have fooled us. Anyone would have thought he was used to performing in public on a regular basis, he delivered his session in one take!
Backed up with only an acoustic guitarist, your attention won’t be diverted away from his voice for a second, his deliverance is executed in such a way that you believe every word he sings.
