Jay – Z is reportedly working on a response album following the allegations made in Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’, which suggests he cheated on her.
The couples’ relationship has been the talk of the town recently after the release of the record breaking album; ‘Lemonade’ which currently has 12 songs simultaneously in the Billboard top 100 – breaking the world record for most songs simultaneously in the rundown. Taylor Swift, who had 11 songs in the rundown back in 2010, previously held the record.
With lyrics such as “This is your final warning, you know I give you life, if you try this s*** again, you gon’ lose your wife”, it’s indisputable that much of this album is inspired by the singer’s own experiences with her husband.
When speaking to Heat Magazine, sister, Shanica Knowles said: “Beyonce has been encouraged to write about the affair rumours to help her deal with it all and help her determine whether she can work through it all or have to end the marriage.
“This has been a long process and I’ve heard they’ve had to deal with silent separations and splits over the last few years but Bey is praying that this album will actually save their marriage.”
‘Lemonade’ was split into themes; Intuition, denial, anger, apathy,, emptiness to start with and then it ends on a more positive note with the themes of forgiveness, hope and redemption.
However, many have been speculating if the couple are using the theme of infidelity as an elaborate marketing stunt to drum up album sales. After giving streaming rights solely to Pandora and Tidal (Jay – Z’s company) the Tidal app has shot up 148 places on the US list of most downloaded apps, landing a space in the iTunes top 5.
So with this in mind, perhaps Jay – Z’s rumoured album is a further addition to the marketing scheme… Or maybe not, either way I’m sure we’re all in for a treat.
